With 50% – 60% of its attendees either homeless or unemployed, the UCKG HelpCentre’s soup kitchen on Rye Lane, Peckham saw demand for its services increasing week on week to 85 individuals helped on Saturday 16 May, and 92 on 23 May.

For two consecutive weeks now, the UCKG HelpCentre’s Kilburn soup kitchen has been handing out 110 or more bags of provisions for local individuals and families who are finding it hard to put food on the table, and it is keen to do more.

With the end of the coronavirus lockdown in sight, the UCKG HelpCentre’s soup kitchen at 1 Bromley Road, Catford, is redoubling its efforts to ensure that it has enough food for everyone who turns up. The users now total 95 individuals who come along to the regular sessions, that run from 11am to 2pm each Saturday.
