The Gold and the Altar

Through His ministry, the Saviour helped, encouraged and blessed those who were humble. Yet, that mildness disappeared when Jesus spoke to arrogant and hypocritical religious leaders.

The Lord Jesus not only denounced their hypocritical faith but He also warned His disciples of the harmful and hidden motives of those religious leaders and strongly condemned those who behaved in a pharisaical manner. Today, you can still find the same kind of people, who hold positions in the work of God undeservedly, since they don’t testify for their faith, have no godly fear or faithfulness to eternal principles, but only want the honour of sitting ‘in prominent seats’.

‘Do you know what it means to have the Spirit of the Most High God living inside of you? And did you know that this Spirit is not given by measure, but is poured out in abundance upon those who believe, just as it happened to the Lord Jesus when He came into this world? This is so wonderful that we can’t just limit ourselves to do His Work in a mediocre manner!’

This is just a glimpse of the revelations that are shared in Bishop Macedo’s book, The Gold and The Altar. By using the explanations in his book, we are holding a special Bible study, where we put out an urgent call for today’s church to reclaim God’s principles – among which are sincerity and care for the altar. Each meeting focuses on one part of the book, where we will teach men and women to not become spiritually lost by disregarding God’s call.
