A night where anything was made possible

The Night of Power, which took place on the 16th of July, was an event that marked the lives of hundreds of people. Many arrived at the event with problems that had lingered for weeks, months and some even years.

Bishop Alvaro, leader of the UCKG HelpCentre in the UK, began the service by showing footage of how the Night of Power event has helped people previously, so that those attending would know what to expect and have the faith to ask God to show His power.

The pastors were already at the altar when the bishop started praying for the people. Those who had health issues moved towards the altar to receive a special prayer, whereby the pastors removed their ties and used them as a point of contact to minister the blessing, just as the apostle Paul had done in his time:

‘Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick.’ (Acts 19:11-12)

After this special prayer many people gave testimony of their blessing. They spoke to the bishop and the congregation rejoiced at how they felt after the prayer and at the difference the prayer had made.

Bishop Alvaro then called forward anyone who had other types of problems, such as emotional issues or problems in their family. Many people went forward and received a special prayer for God to show His power in their lives and fulfil the promises He made in the Bible.

After that, the bishop asked everybody to stay in front of the altar while he explained that the blessings of this world amount to nothing if we don’t have the most important blessing of all, which is the guarantee of the salvation of our soul. The only One who can guarantee this is the Holy Spirit, when we seek Him wholeheartedly and obey His will. The bishop read the passage where Jesus guides us in this aspect:

‘Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.’ (Luke 10:19-20)

The meeting proceeded to the moment when everyone sought the Holy Spirit and praised Him for everything that He had done in their lives. It was a special moment, and everyone had the opportunity to speak to God individually and intimately in order to build a relationship with Him.

The Night of Power was concluded with Bishop Alvaro revealing that this meeting was just a prelude to what is coming in the next few weeks—The Day of Power. This mega event will happen on the 22nd of September at the QPR Stadium, where our members in London, and some from outside London, will reunite to call upon God’s power once more to make great things happen.
