Salt: The Symbol of Flavour and Life

No one likes to eat food that has no flavour. It’s bland and tasteless and can sometimes make you feel like being sick. But even if a little salt is added, it makes all the difference to a meal, taking it from dull and dreary to delicious and edible.

Now let’s bring that to day-to-day life. Isn’t that how you sometimes feel when you can’t seem to catch a break? Life feels monotonous, wearisome, mundane and just plain blah!

Get the flavour back into your life! But the trials that life brings doesn’t mean that you have to accept them. Instead of looking for something to add flavour to your life, did you know that you can BE the salt itself? Yes– you can be the flavour that sometimes seems as though life is missing.

Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another.” (Mark 9:50)

It’s one thing for someone to make you a meal and have already put salt in it. But if you always carried salt around with you, the off chance that your food arrives tasteless would never be an issue. You would be able to solve that problem yourself.

This is how you need to be – the salt itself; so that your life is always full of flavour, and no matter what troubles come your way, you can triumph over them because your life is tasteful. You don’t rely on anyone else to make the difference – you are the salt!

This is what we will determine during the Spiritual Cleansing meeting this Friday as we reach the 4th week of the ‘7 Fridays of the Blessed Rose’.

Don’t forget to bring a rose to be blessed with a sprinkle of the blessed salt. As you place the rose in your house throughout the week, we will pray that your life will be filled with flavour.

Please come wearing your face covering and follow all social distancing guidelines. For more information, call our 24-hour Helpline on 020 7686 6000.
