I lived with my mum and got fed up of constantly asking her for things. The people around me had the latest gear and had no problem in getting things they wanted. This is what led me to doing things the wrong way. I would make money illegally, even to the point of robbing people. When I came to the UCKG HelpCentre, my financial life was far from established—I didn’t even have a job!
I started attending the Monday Independence Project meetings and learnt to do things differently, to use my faith in an effective and intelligent way. Consequently I was offered the position as a young adviser for my local council. However, it wasn’t exactly what I wanted as it was part time, therefore I started working as a team leader for a fundraising company as well.
Unsatisfied with the situation in my financial life, I carried on attending the meetings and learnt the power of persevering for my goals and never setting for second best. Randomly, my manager at the council offered me a position to work full time. I was shocked when he asked me, as this was exactly what I was hoping for. It has given me an open door to further my career, and on top of that, I’ve had another opportunity to achieve even more in my financial life. None of this would have been possible if it wasn’t for the Monday Independence Project.
