When we speak about this very important relationship between a parent and child, it symbolises our relationship with God.
There is a huge pressure on parents to provide, and they work hard to fulfil this (which is good), but that does not substitute the fact that children are missing out on spending quality time with their parents.
Children nowadays lack parental love. They are distracted by gadgets and devices, but these children will grow up, become adults and do the same. And this is how the devil infiltrates and destroys society. He patiently waits.
The faith that is born in a child starts with the belief they have in their parents. The examples and teachings builds the confidence the child needs to believe in himself. But how can this be if there are no visible parental references?
The knock-on effect is that if they don’t believe in themselves, how can they believe in God?
Here are some tips to boost your parent-child relationship:
“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.” (Deuteronomy 6:6,7)
