Without, Against or With?

the fullness of God,

Without, Against or With?

In the Bible, and in the world there are basically three types of people, those who fought without God, who fought against Him, and those who fought with God by their side.

Esau fought without God. He did things His own way and never considered God to be his ally or helper. He was a successful hunter who was aware of his strength, and so, he did things by himself. This is why he despised the blessing of the firstborn and gave it to his brother. In the same way, there are people who behave like Esau; they think that having a degree is what will guarantee them success or being beautiful or handsome will guarantee them a partner for life. They rely on their strength. However, the areas that people trust in their abilities the most is where they fail the most. This is evident in the celebrity culture we see today where, unfortunately, those who have fame, money, possessions, and beauty, and should be able to keep a happy marriage, fail to do just that.

For a long while, Jacob fought against God. He knew what he was supposed to do but did things his own way. When people come to the church, God speaks to them and they learn how to use their faith. However, when they resist His word and don’t act, they are fighting against Him. It’s like tensing your muscle when being immunised against something that is meant to do you good. You will only make it hurt more than it’s supposed to. In the same way, when people resist God, they are only hurting themselves because their situation won’t change.

It’s only when Jacob stopped resisting and fought with God that his identity changed. He became Israel. If you want the fullness of God, then whatever He has been telling you to surrender, to change, to give, you must do it. You fight with God when you go against your old nature and obey the will of God. When He no longer finds any resistance in you, that is when God can fill you with His Spirit and give you a new identity.

The campaign is not over, it has just begun. As we presented our sacrifice and life on the Altar, on Sunday we will continue wrestling with God throughout this month of July. We will not let Him go until He blesses us, and we are determined that we will receive a new identity.

Join us in this faith, every Sunday at your local UCKG branch at 10am and every night at 11:45pm you are invited to connect to Libertyradio.co.uk this week as we continue to wrestle with God.

Please come wearing your face covering and following all social distancing guidelines.
