build a better community, We Care event,

The ‘We Care’ charity event, took place last week Saturday 9^th July, it was arranged by the local community (Plaistow South). The purpose of this event was to raise awareness of the need for a clean, safe and enjoyable community. On arrival, the volunteers were provided with an understanding of what the council has planned for the community, in addition to displaying the improvements made to the green since the previous community outreach event at this location.

The Community Neighbourhood Senior Officer Andrew De Heer, guided the volunteers present through the area, providing safety equipment, Covid compliant materials and tools to effectively complete the task at hand. The volunteers present successfully collected 14 bags of litter, as well as multiple shards of glass found in the play area.

The volunteers were our members of the Plaistow and Stratford VYG (Victory Youth Group), as well as a Community outreach rep from both branches and Plaistow VYG youth Pastor Frederick.

Having been involved in previous community events, Andrew was pleased with the work and efforts and looked forward to the next opportunity. Andrew also recognised a number of individuals from the Spring Clean event and was impressed by the energy and liveliness the volunteers had considering the weather.

We are thankful that this is another successful community outreach initiative, another proof that together we are stronger and can build a better community when we are united.
