The Lord’s Supper of those Wrestling with God

receive the Lord’s Supper,

Wrestling with God

The Lord’s Supper has and always will be a special moment. The Lord Jesus Himself told us to do it often and to remember Him while taking part in it. And as we are in the spirit of the Campaign at the Ford of Jabbok, the Lord’s Supper will reflect this.

The Ford of Jabbok means ‘emptying itself’. This is exactly what Jacob did when he passed all of his possessions and family members over to the other side of the ford; he was emptying himself to be alone and receive what he truly needed, which was to be transformed from the inside out. This will be the significance of the Lord’s Supper on Sunday, 11 July.

We will take part to empty ourselves of all that is unnecessary and damaging to our souls to be filled with God. As we pass by the altar, we will first empty ourselves when we place our sacrifices and then receive the Lord’s Supper.

Use this week to prepare yourself spiritually and physically, as we are in the last stretch to the altar. Ensure that there is nothing lacking and that when you climb the altar, you will be certain you have done all that you can to receive God’s all.

Don’t forget to come wearing your face covering and follow all social distancing guidelines.
