Last week Sunday, the Victory Youth Group (VYG), hosted a special Sunday Live with the parents that took place at all UCKG branches where we have an active VYG. The purpose behind the Sunday Live special was for all parents, guardians and family members to see first-hand what takes place in the VYG.
Vivienne, a parent of one of the youths said: “It was amazing to see and get involved with the youths as they danced. At least it gave me an opportunity to be part of the VYG for the day.”
The parents who attended saw the activities that took place such as the singing and dancing at the beginning, which some of the parents happily joined in.
Jessica, a member of the youth group was able to share her testimony on how her life was before attending VYG and how it has now transformed since receiving help through the work of the VYG. Vivienne, Jessica’s mother was happy to hear about the transformation of her daughter and especially grateful to God for the young woman she has now become.
In addition to the activities, a short drama skit was shown as well as a video presentation prepared by the VYG expressing their gratitude for everything their parents have done for them. Following on from all the fun and games a thought-provoking spiritual message was passed on to both children and parents including practical tips of five attributes on building a robust, strong and healthy family.
Angela, another parent of one of the youths expressed: “Being invited to the VYG Sunday Live is the proof of how much this group wants to work in partnership with parents and guardians. The day was a great blessing, and the message was a reminder of how families should work and stick together.”
On that note, we had parents who really took in the message and were really thankful for their participation and will be working together with the VYG Pastor to help their children become the best version of themselves.
The Victory Youth Group (VYG) is the UK’s largest and most active youth group for teens and young people aged 14-25 years old. We offer a range of activities and practical advice to help young people to become successful adults. So, whether music, dance or arts is your thing it really doesn’t matter!
We believe every young person can get involved and fit in regardless of their age, background, where they live or upbringing. We have a substantial number of youths who attend the VYG.
We have Weekly ‘Real Talk’ meetings (Wednesdays at 6pm) and Weekly ‘Sunday LIVE’ meetings (Sundays at 1:30pm)
