Night of the Pearl – Night Vigil

the salvation of our souls,

Night of the Pearl
What is a pearl? In the literal sense, pearls are gems formed through a natural process that happens in living shelled molluscs, but they can be so precious that their name also represents anything valuable. According to the Oxford dictionary, one of the definitions of the word pearl is “a thing that is very highly valued.”

Pearls are the only jewels created by a living animal – oysters – and have been used as jewellery throughout the ages because of their value and attractive appearance. Records of its use as ornament go back to 2,300 B.C. in Mesopotamia. There are fake pearls made up of glass, ceramic and other materials, but they have low quality and are almost worthless. However, the value of a real pearl can go up to millions of pounds. Among the factors that make them beautiful and valuable are their shape, brightness, colour and surface quality.

In a spiritual sense, the pearl represents the most valuable asset that we have: our salvation. The greatest investment that we can make is in the salvation of our souls. That’s why on Friday, 25 February, we will have a special Night Vigil: The Night of the Pearl, at 10pm. All London branches will gather at the Rainbow Theatre and outside London churches will join via video conference. Don’t miss this opportunity to have your strength renewed by God and take care of this Pearl that He gave to all of us.
