emotional support, lone parent,
Becoming a parent involves the greatest physical, emotional and social upheaval that most people will ever experience. The frustration of doing it alone can create stress and anxiety that is damaging both to the parent and child. Support groups like the Lone Parents Group provide a helping hand for women who feel like this. Through practical and emotional support and assistance, the group works to help lone mothers understand that being a lone parent needn’t be the be-all and end-all of their life.
The group offers group discussions and from time to time we have bonding sessions for both mother and child. We’ve seen many of our single mums overcome past traumas and get back on their feet. It’s not uncommon for us to have women who feel as though they cannot do anything because they’ve had a child, but our success stories prove otherwise.
