Thousands Learn to Love Intelligently

Cristiane Cardoso, The Love School, TV presenter, TV show,

Monday 29th September 2014

There was a full house at The SSE Arena, Wembley yesterday (Sunday, September 28) when in excess of 11,000 people from London and all over the UK gathered for The Love School Event 2014. Their aim was to learn to love intelligently and ensure they are well equipped to have fulfilling relationships, as love is one of the most basic human needs.

The event was sponsored by the UCKG HelpCentre against a backdrop of the UK’s high divorce rate, the social cost of unhappy marriages and failing relationships for children and adults alike, and the difficulty some singletons have in establishing a love life.

International TV personalities and marriage educators, Renato and Cristiane Cardoso, held the audience captive by speaking openly about their early struggles in what is now a very successful 23 year marriage, and talking through seven danger areas that often suffocate relationships/marriages.

These range from over-concentration on careers and financial well-being that leaves successful thirty-something women comfortably off but lonely to the pitfalls of internet flirtation for marrieds and porn usage for men. Issues related to low self esteem that make it hard for singles to meet potential partners and form relationships, were also dealt with in detail.

The event was a sequel to last year’s sell-out success, taking the teaching further, and often being more explicit. As in 2013, The Love School sought to entertain as well as to educate, with supporting acts and competitions compered by British TV presenter Christoulla Boodram (Chrissy B).

“In continuing our The Love School initiative, we were as keen to help singles as those at various stages in their relationships and Renato and Cris certainly had plenty of sound, practical ideas for all,” said Celso Junior, the Bishop in charge of the UCKG HelpCentre in the UK.

“We heard numerous stories of people who rebuild their relationships by applying what they learned at the Arena in 2013, and we look forward to more of the same after this year’s event.”
