What does it mean to have faith?

Body of Christ, Christ, Christian, God, God the Father, Holy Spirit, Jesus, the promise of God,

What does it mean to have faith?

True faith comes from the Holy Spirit. This is not the same faith we are born with—natural faith, which is impossible to survive without. We use it every day. We have faith to assume natural things, such as determining that we will be home at a certain time or tomorrow we will execute a certain plan.

You wouldn’t ask a bus driver if he has a licence. You just assume with your natural faith that he is capable of taking you wherever you need to go. You believe you will reach your destination.

However, supernatural faith causes us to live an extraordinary life.

When there was famine in the land of Israel, and everyone was travelling to Egypt to find provisions for their families, God told Isaac not to go.

“Then the Lord appeared to him and said: ‘Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land of which I shall tell you. Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you…’” (Genesis 26:2,3)

Isaac could have followed the multitude, but he chose to have faith in the promise of God; he stayed, he planted and he reaped.

God provided for him in the form of a well of running water and he was blessed.

Now Isaac was able to offer food to the others, and he became richer than the authorities of that city, all because he chose to live extraordinarily as he believed.

There was nothing for him to see— only the dry land and the sky, which showed no signs of rain. But God made water come from the ground.

As a child of God, you must live life differently. He promised to promote a huge difference between those who serve Him and those who don’t.

Based on this, you cannot accept to live your life the way it is.

God bless you.
