Two kinds of people…

having knowledge of the Word of God, pact of faithfulness,

Two kinds of people…

There are two kinds of people, those who trust in their strength and those who trust in God, which one are you?

Before you say that you trust in God, read on…

The Bible gives an account of the people of Israel who were given orders by God to conquer the promise land – the land that flows with milk and honey, but God didn’t say it would be an easy task.

As they went to spy out the land, they fearfully gave in to what they saw the Bible states that they compared themselves to grasshoppers (Numbers 13:33) in the sight of those who occupied the land.

To have an idea of how great the land was – once a year in Japan there is a harvest where grapes are sold for approximately $100 since they are grown in a controlled environment, they come out the best however in the promise land one cluster had to be carried by two men!

Yes, indeed the land was great however the One who gave the order to possess it was and is even greater than any conquest. Amongst those who spied out the land Joshua and Caleb believed and trusted that they could possess it with God accompanying them and that is exactly what they done:

“…The Lord is with us. Do not fear them.” (Numbers 14:9)

Those who trust in God, believe in His word regardless of the outward circumstances; crisis, cost of living, or changes to the economy, they are not bound by outward challenges.

They remain faithful to God in their tithes even when it seems like things are not in their favour. They become unshaken, prosperous and a testimony to those around them.

Those who trust in their own strength, are those who despite having knowledge of the Word of God it becomes easily dismissed when faced with hardship and challenges. Their actions are based on what is happening around them and not what is written.

Now you can answer the question, which one are you?

Whether you have found yourself trusting in God or your own strength this Sunday is for both. We invite you to write down and bring it with you to church the following depending on where you find yourself:

  1. For those who are faithful tithers we invite you to – write a prayer request of thanksgiving to God for all His provisions
  2. For you that are yet to make a pact of faithfulness to God, we invite you to write down the following – I will make a pact with God regardless of the circumstances
  3. For you that are faithful to God but find that you are facing a challenging moment – you will write down this challenging moment and present it to God in prayer

“If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey.’” (Numbers 14:8)

God’s promises stand the test of time for those who trust in Him, this Sunday we invite you to present your tithe or make a pact with God and you will see how His promises will be fulfilled in your life.
