The wall of Jericho

Have you been facing a ‘wall’ in your life? Is there something stopping you from achieving your goals? Perhaps the ‘wall’ in your life is a result of fear, depression, betrayal, family problems etc.?

Whatever it may be, these walls can be removed from your life.

In biblical times, the people of Israel were oppressed and unable to enter Jericho as there was a great wall in their way. This was not just any wall; it was a wall deemed as invincible in the eyes of humans. Enemies had taken over the city of Jericho and the people of Israel were not only isolated from the city, but they were also threatened by their enemies.

But the Lord said to Moses:

‘When you go to war in your land against the enemy who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the Lord your God, and you will be saved from your enemies.’ (Numbers 10:9)

When the Lord said this, the people of Israel marched around the wall and blew their trumpets. When the trumpets were blown, the wall of Jericho fell down and the people of Israel entered the city and destroyed their enemies.

Even though the battle of the wall of Jericho seems ancient, it holds a strong message that can be applied in today’s world. When we use our faith in God and take action, we are able to overcome our troubles. The people of Israel used their faith and as a result, they were victorious in battle.

On Friday 17 September, we will begin a series of meetings that will teach you how to use faith and prayer to bring down the walls in your life. You will also be blowing the trumpet, and just like the people of Israel did in biblical times, the walls in your life will be brought down!
