The Reggaeton singer Daddy Yankee a Christian?

Converted-to -Chrisitianity

Puerto Rican singer Daddy Yankee, 46, announced his conversion to Christianity at his last show on the La Meta tour, which took place recently at the Coliseum stadium in Puerto Rico.

The artist – considered the king of Reggaeton (musical style) – began his career in the 90s. His best-known songs are the hits Gasolina and Despacito.

“Christ lives in me and I will live through Him”

In an approximately 3-minute speech, he revealed that there was a void within him that success and fame had not been able to fill, but which has now been filled by Jesus Christ.

“For a long time, I tried to fill an emptiness in my life that nobody could fill. I was trying to fulfil and find meaning in my life. Sometimes I seemed very happy, but there was something missing to complete me. And I must confess that those days are over.”

“I realized that I was nothing without Him. I was able to travel the world for years, winning many awards and applause. But I realized something that the Bible says: ‘For what would it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?’”

“That’s why tonight I recognised and am unashamed to tell the world that Jesus lives in me and that I will live for him. This is the end of a chapter and the beginning of a completely new one.”

From a spiritual point of view, the emptiness of the soul is nothing more than the thirst for God. Just like a car needs fuel to run; some appliances need electricity to operate; and the body needs food to stay upright. It is the presence of God that fills the soul and gives meaning to life.

If you, just as the singer Daddy Yankee expressed, feel an emptiness within yourself, and for a long time you have been trying to fill it with friendships, trips, parties, material goods, relationships, but none of these have been enough to fill it, know that only God can fill it. He can provide you with the peace, joy and inner fulfilment you have been seeking.
