The importance of committing our plans to God

Presenting plans to God

Last Sunday, at the Life in Colour event, hundreds of people gathered in their respective Universal Churches to receive true joy, which comes from God.

All those who attended were invited to receive a special anointing with the oil of joy, representing the Holy Spirit.

The Victory Youth Group (VYG) the youth network of the church, performed a dance performance following the theme of the day – mental health. The energetic and lively dancers lit up the faces of many, whilst raising awareness of this important topic.

This was not all that happened on this eventful morning. Students of all ages were invited to receive a special blessing for their studies, as they commence another academic year.

The highlight of the service, was the thought-provoking message which taught everyone the importance of presenting their ways to God, based on Proverbs 16:1-5. The attendees learnt that to commit their life to God, is to not only pray but to follow the guidance of His word.

Before committing to anything, whether it be a job, purchase or a relationship, we should ask God to guide and show us if it’s the right step for us to take. When we do this, God helps us to make the right decisions and avoid preventable problems.

Bishop said, “The problem is that many people decide first, and ask questions later,” which usually doesn’t end well. When we commit our lives to God and submit to His will, we may lose in the short term, but in the long term we will reap the benefits of trusting in His guidance.

At the end of the meeting, everyone was invited to make this decision, to surrender their future into the hands of God during the moment of the prayer.

This meeting was a blessing and the preparations for next Sunday morning service are already underway. We will be taking part of the Lord’s Supper, one of the most special ceremonies in the church and an opportunity to renew your relationship with God.

The Lord’s Supper will be served in all our Universal Churches, during the 10am service (also at 7:30am). Everyone is welcome to attend and partake of this special meeting, no matter your religious or ethnic background.

What counts is that you come to the service with an open mind, as we are sure that this week’s message will not only lift you up, but will help you understand the will of God.

This week we will be terminating the 9-week purpose, “The Powerful Novena of Healing and Miracles,” so come determined to experience the power of God. Whether you will be attending for the first time, or if you are a long-standing member, this meeting is due to be remarkable, so don’t miss this opportunity to be blessed.

Above all, the Sunday morning services are our offering to God, so mark this special date in your calendar and prepare yourself for a unique and life-transformative experience. We look forward to seeing you there!
