The Fast of Daniel: 21 Days to feed on the Word

FoD news

When we restrict our bodies from the necessary nourishment that it needs, our health becomes compromised.

In the short term, you may experience headaches, followed by a lack of strength to carry out activities. Over a longer period of time, a poor or restricted diet can cause adverse effects on our bodies.

The same can be said for the soul, it requires sustenance from the Holy Spirit and spending time in the word of God.

It can be so easy to get carried away by the many things going on around us and fill ourselves with information that can even generate stress or anxiety.

That’s what the Fast of Daniel is all about! Disconnecting from all distractions to invest in the Holy Spirit.

Feelings of sadness, excessive stress and worry about the future could all be signs of a hungry soul. If you can relate and you desire to receive peace within you in the midst of a tempestuous world, this fast could be exactly what you need!

The fast of Daniel is 21 days of abstaining from all secular media and information, instead using our time to do activities that feed our soul! This comprises of reading the Bible or a book of faith, prayer and even coming to the church more often.

However, this is not all! You will receive daily tasks based on the two greatest commandments:

  1. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and with all your mind
  2. Love your neighbour as yourself

They have been prepared so you can make the most of this purpose by encouraging you to put your faith into action.

The fast will begin on Sunday 25 June and will last until 16 July. To know more about this fast, you are invited to attend the Sunday Morning service at 10am in your local Universal Church. There will be a Pastor available to assist you before or after the service with any questions you may have.
