Picture this: a beautiful family sitting around the table, enjoying a warm meal together, the children are cheerful and everyone is united and having a good time. Although they all face challenges in their workplace or school, at the end of the day the entire family come together to enjoy dinner in each other’s presence. There is a sense of safety and peace because the family are there for one another and everyone is together.
This is the vision that God has for family, but unfortunately, this isn’t the reality in many households. Children no longer value the word of their parents or feel that they cannot confide in them and parents desire to restore the bond they once had with their children.
To sit together at the table is not an outdated tradition, but rather a practice that brings families together. However, today most families will eat in their separate rooms and do not share their lives with one another. For many, if they are not arguing, they are living like strangers under the same roof.
That’s why this Sunday, we will be making a prayer of protection for the parents and children.
