Social action supports families in Ivory Coast

Recently, volunteers organised themselves to support a significant social initiative in the Yao Kanga neighbourhood of Deux Plateau, located in the city of Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

The purpose of this work was to distribute essential food baskets to families in need. This marked the first occurrence of such an initiative in the area, and approximately 30 volunteers actively participated in the event.

The outreach effort successfully reached over 100 individuals, providing them with basic food supplies, as well as sharing a message of faith based on this Biblical Scripture:

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28 NKJV)

During the event, Bishop Fabiano Telis, who oversees the work of Universal Church in Ivory Coast and was present at the occasion, prayed for the people and their family.

He highlighted the importance of having faith in God, because without faith there will be no transformation of life – just as God transformed his life, through the faith of his mother who first prayed for him.

“The importance of the day was to help these people who lack the means to support themselves, since the cost of living is increasingly expensive. This day welcomed the people of that neighbourhood Yao Kanga – Deux Plateau.”, emphasized Pastor Izildo Bastos, responsible for the evangelistic work of the local Evangelization group (EVG).

“I would like to thank, on behalf of all the mothers and all the women living in the neighbourhood and everyone present here, the gesture of love that Universal showed towards us by presenting us with basic food baskets and, above all, the prayer for our families. I’m speechless. We really appreciate this gesture of love”, said Mrs. Lydia, one of the beneficiaries.
