New Year’s Resolutions: Are they outdated?

NYE Resolutions

For many, the end of the year is the opportune time to reframe choices, put into practice new attitudes and strengthen relationships. It is also a time to complete goals, set goals and start a new phase in life.

From this, stems the popular custom of creating New Year’s Resolutions.

However, what few realise is that when the euphoria passes, everything returns to its normal state. Thus, what is truly new is only the disappointments, frustrations, losses and the setbacks, which are renewed year after year.

In light of all this, not even all the “Christmas cheer” propagated is able to soften the weight borne by those who seek to mask their reality with the momentary joy.

However, the Word of God reveals a promise to those who place their total strength and trust in Him:

“Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:19 NKJV)

Although many don’t believe, it is possible to have a complete and happy new life. If you have suffered from the lack of hope for a change in your life, you are invited to take a different action. Start the new year in the presence of God!

To take possession of a new life and consequently, of the happiness granted by the Most High, through His Spirit, it is necessary to make a commitment with Him. Make no mistake, the surrender of your life to God is not limited to vain statements spoken to Him in prayer, it requires daily renunciation of your will and obedience to the Word of God.

End this year by making this decision to surrender your life to God, in His house in the New Year’s Eve Night Vigil. It will start at 10pm and will take place in the Rainbow Theatre in Finsbury Park.

This meeting will also be held in select locations in London and all outside London branches at the nearest Universal Church.

You will present your goals and projects for the new year to God and participate in the Lord’s Supper. This meeting will be a great way to kickstart the new year strong, so don’t miss this opportunity and invite your family to join you!

We look forward to seeing you there.
