Children from the city of Bucha, Ukraine, hosted a very special party to celebrate “Children’s Day”, which is celebrated on the 1st of June.

About 100 children participated in the event, the educators at the Children’s Bible Centre (CBC) prepared games, competitions and gifts for the little ones.

The children also had the opportunity to learn about faith and the unlimited love that the Lord Jesus Christ has for them followed by a prayer.

Everyone participated with enthusiasm, fun games and activities and a language aimed at them, we showed that in the midst of war it is possible to find peace in Jesus. We also taught them that they can reach Him through prayer and sincere words”, said Alla Velikzhanina, responsible for the project.

The city was one of the first to be attacked in the conflict with Russia and was badly destroyed. In war everyone suffers, but children are more vulnerable.

When the sirens sound warning that an attack is coming, everyone has to run to take cover in the bunkers. Many, taken by fear, cry. Added to this, there is the noise of the explosions that increases their despair.

Many lost their parents, because they were summoned and never came back. Others were orphaned by their father and mother, depending on the care of their grandparents, uncles or orphanages. Just like adults, they also need the strength that comes from God and the peace that only He can give. Therefore, CBC’s work is essential to connect these children to the Father”, added Alla.

My daughter left the party very happy, she liked it so much that she asked if she has CBC every day and asked to come back tomorrow”, said Lesia Gurmenuk.
