On Saturday, 24 February, the Victory Youth Group (VYG – a community group tailored to young people) held a friendly football tournament with young men from age 19 and above, who came from our London branches.

It was an afternoon of exhibiting talent whilst enjoying the thrill of friendly competition and brotherhood.

The purpose of this event was to showcase the projects organised by the VYG, such as regular sports events which bring young people together in a positive way.

Whereas sports can sometimes create an environment that is tense, or even hostile, where everyone is just focused on winning, this football tournament aimed to provide a fun and safe environment.

“Seeing men from different areas coming together is something we don’t see very often. I feel that this is a great work to be a part of!” said an attendee of the event.

The VYG offers spiritual support to young people between the ages of 14-25 and has already helped many youths from different walks of life to make better choices and improve their chances of success.

The VYG eagerly anticipate hosting future sports events, so if you or someone you know could benefit from this work, don’t hesitate to get in touch. Visit us at your nearest Universal Church or send us a message on our 24-Hour WhatsApp on 020 7686 6010.
