Forgiveness Produces Healing

Forgiveness-produces-healing

From a simple squabble with a loved one to a betrayal from an ex-partner, the effects of unresolved resentment can be greater than you may realise.

Holding on to resentment and unforgiveness can have serious consequences on your physical, emotional and mental well-being.

According to John Hopkins School of Medicine, unforgiveness “increases the risk of depression, heart disease and diabetes, among other conditions”.

The good news is that the simple act of letting go of these negative feelings towards those who have hurt you can reap colossal rewards for your overall health.

When reading the Bible, forgiveness is a significant subject spoken about several times, especially by the Lord Jesus. He taught His disciples saying,

“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive. You your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will you Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.” (Mark 11:25-26 NKJV)

However, it seems to be the most difficult commandment for many to implement in their life.

If this is you and you finally want to be free from the hurt of the past, you are invited to join us at your local Universal Church on Sunday, 21 April for the ‘Sunday of Forgiveness’.

The first step to overcoming resentment is to turn to God, who can help you clean your heart from all harmful feelings. Don’t miss this opportunity to receive the internal healing that comes from forgiving.
