Demas abandoned me

Demas-abandoned-me

“For Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica—Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia.” (2 Timothy 4:10 NKJV)

In one of the Apostle Paul’s last writings, he talks about how he was abandoned by someone who preached and served with him, because that person loved the world more than God.

We often hear about people leaving the faith today, and think that this is a problem of the present times. But the Bible shows us that this was common even then when the church was just beginning.

But even though some abandoned Paul, and the work of God; there were some who remained faithful.

Today is no different. For all those who chose the world, there is a group of faithful servants who remain until the end even when the world is calling out to them.

Which one will you choose to be?
