8 Billion People on Earth – The Harvest just got Bigger

8 Billion people Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” (Matthew 9:37-38)

Jesus said these words when the population on earth was a lot smaller. Those who were called by God at that time to go out into the world and save souls, understood the enormous task that was before them. They also understood that this would only be achievable through the guidance and strength of the Holy Spirit.

Today, as this message is being written, we’ve just hit 8 billion people on earth. That’s 8 billion souls – souls who in most cases have an undecided eternity.

Jesus taught us to pray so that labourers would be sent to work in this harvest to show these souls who are heading to eternal perdition, that there is a way out to salvation at the side of the Lord Jesus.

For three years the Lord Jesus discipled those around Him so that they could become workers of this great harvest, so that even after He was physically gone, they could continue His work. And this is exactly what happened. With a very small group of people who became children of God, a revolution of salvation began in this world.

Today, God is still looking for workers for this harvest – one that has multiplied exponentially. Many say that they want to become workers in this most excellent work of saving souls, but it never seems to be the right time for them.

But if you understand the importance of the salvation of your own soul and that of the people around you, then know that God can cause the same revolution of salvation that He did through the first disciples, through you.

If you want to be a worker in this harvest, speak to your pastor at your local UCKG. There is no greater joy than to be a representative of the Living God here on earth.
