The Spiritual Defence Every Family Needs

Family Protection

Faith has never been more necessary within families. What once served as a pillar of protection and refuge has, in many cases, become a setting for conflict and emotional turmoil. Couples often live as adversaries, relatives grow more distant than complete strangers and, tragically, it’s not uncommon to hear of parents and children harming one another.

A recent and shocking example was the death of film director Rob Reiner, known for iconic productions such as “Stand by Me,” “This Is Spinal Tap,” and “When Harry Met Sally.” Last Sunday, 14 December, the bodies of Reiner and his wife, Michele, were found with multiple stab wounds in their Los Angeles home by their 28-year-old daughter, Romy. On the same day, their 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, was arrested in connection with the case.

According to sources cited by CBS News, the father and son had been involved in a heated argument during a party the previous evening. Police Chief Jim McDonnell confirmed that Nick, who has previously spoken publicly about his struggles with addiction and mental health issues, was “booked for murder” and remains in custody without bail.

It is difficult to imagine what circumstances could drive someone to such cold and violent actions toward a loved one. Yet the Bible warns that in the last days, “the love of many will grow cold” (Matthew 24:12) and even family bonds will be tested. Jesus said, “For brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death” (Matthew 10:21).

This painful reality extends beyond the natural realm. Family is sacred, and for this reason, the forces of negativity strive to sow conflict, resentment and bitterness, undermining relationships that should be strengthened by love.

In light of such scenarios, it’s essential to use faith to combat the work of evil and restore family unity, since God’s guidance can protect and restore relationships. That’s why we would like to invite you to join us this Friday, 19 December, as we continue our “Chain of Prayer to Crush Evil Under My Feet.”

A special prayer will be held for the deliverance and restoration of families. If possible, bring your family members with you so that, by faith, we may determine the end of every evil plan set against your home, restoring relationships and re-establishing the peace that many may have thought was lost.
