Most people like the feeling of starting something new, although for some it may be daunting since it’s the unknown. Yet it is in this period that we reflect on our successes and failures over the past year.
A new year can be likened to a blank piece of paper, it’s knowing that there is no record of the old mistakes, failures, or disappointments and it’s an opportunity to get things right from the get-go.
THINK
What were the things you had achieved and why? What were the things you didn’t do so well in and why? Take time out to reflect back on these things, but don’t dwell on your mistakes. Use it as a learning curve to move forward.
PLAN
Don’t be afraid to dream, you can achieve what you long to see even if it may seem out of your reach. Create SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Reachable, and Time-bound) for different areas of your life.
PRAY
What will guarantee your success is placing what you have planned in the hands of God. You can trust Him and He will equip you with all that you need to achieve your goals.
In this Bible verse (Revelation 21:5) God states that He will make all things NEW, what does this look like to you?
Is it a new job, new habits, or a new approach to your relationship? No matter what this newness may be for you, you can achieve it! With God at your side, the future will always be better than your past.
Start setting your new year goals, ambitions, and targets, and allow God to guide you. He is the One that can help lead you to your goals in the most effective way possible.
That’s why we invite you to attend the New Year’s Night Vigil, where you will have this opportunity to truly start anew in the presence of God. He will protect, equip and strengthen you to reach your goals and so much more.
