Family is the foundation of society, but unfortunately, it constantly faces challenges – both internal, such as misunderstandings, emotional distance, unresolved conflicts and harmful habits, and external, like negative influences, financial pressures and ideologies that attack its significance. Faced with these factors that can undermine the unity and peace in our homes, what can we do to protect and bless our loved ones? The answer is actually simple: we can pray.
In Matthew 15, we read about a desperate Canaanite mother who cried out to Jesus on behalf of her daughter, who was tormented by demons. Her persistence caught the Lord’s attention, and He said, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” (Matthew 15:28). Her daughter was healed because of her intercession.
Today, many people find themselves on their knees confronted by problems that seem determined to tear their families apart. For some, the situation appears so impossible to overcome, that hope seems lost. Yet, even in such moments, there is a way out. There is a God who listens, restores, and can bring peace, unity and protection to the home, regardless of how broken things may seem.
When we refuse to bow down to our problems and instead kneel before God in prayer for our loved ones, we become instruments of intercession. Through faith, we invite the presence of the Almighty to touch our homes. A single prayer can initiate the transformation a family member needs or serve as a point of contact through which God protects our home from every threat.
That is why we invite you to take part in the “Sunday On Our Knees for Our Family”, on 30 November at 10am (also at 7:30am) at your nearest Universal Church. During this service, we will place our families in God’s hands and fight for them through prayer. Please bring a photograph, an item of clothing, or even the name of your family member written on a piece of paper. Together, we will intercede for our loved ones, believing that God can bring the transformation and protection our families need.
