Cry Out to End Financial Shame

Monday

Is a problem in your financial life causing you shame? Keep reading to find out how the story of Abraham relates to you and how you can turn your situation around by following his example.

After waiting 25 years to receive the promise of God – his son, Isaac – he was asked to sacrifice him, a true proof of love, trust and dependency on God. Moved by his faith, Abraham chose to obey, despite the shame this would cause him and his wife. After all, what were people going to say once they had found?

With this, we understand why Abraham is referred to as the father of faith (Romans 4:16) he did not give in to worry or doubts, instead he chose to believe and even transmitted this same tranquillity to his son:

“But Isaac spoke to Abraham… “Look, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering (…)” (Genesis 22:7-8 NKJV)

His story teaches us that there are deserts that we go through, even without doing anything wrong. God allows this, so that we can mature in our faith and learn to depend on Him. If we endure these challenges, God promises through His Word to reward us:

“Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise” (Hebrews 10:35-36 NKJV)

So, when things get hard, don’t complain – withstand the pressure. Ask Him to help you, because He is waiting for you to take an action of faith, so that He can fulfil His Word in your life!
