Bible Sales Surge as People Turn to What Is Written

Bibles
The Holy Bible is experiencing a moment of great demand across the northern hemisphere that’s taken even publishing experts by surprise. According to The Christian Post, sales of physical Bibles in both the United Kingdom and the United States have more than doubled since 2019.

In the UK, sales have grown by an extraordinary 106% over the past five years. Meanwhile, in the United States, Bible sales reached their highest level in two decades, with an astonishing 19 million copies sold in 2025 alone.

One of the most surprising aspects of this biblical surge is that it is being driven by Generation Z. Young people aged between 14 and 29 are leading the demand, with many intentionally choosing printed Bibles over digital versions.

Specialists suggest this renewed interest is closely linked to the world young people are growing up in. Increased social anxiety, political uncertainty and the search for purpose in a rapidly changing, AI-driven society have pushed many to look for something stable and trustworthy. For this generation, the Scriptures offer reassurance, direction and a sense of meaning.

This growing shift highlights that in challenging times, people seek a solid foundation. That is why, at the Universal Church, we are embracing the purpose, ‘It Is Written: 40 Days of Blessings.’ This initiative goes beyond reading — it’s an invitation to live by faith.

Throughout these 40 days, we are encouraged to meditate on God’s Word so it becomes more than just a book. Instead, it becomes a daily guide, strengthening us spiritually and protecting us against life’s challenges. As Scripture reminds us: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105).

Having a Bible is important, but having the desire to learn from it is essential. God speaks to those who are willing to listen — whether on your commute, during a quiet moment at home, or while spending time with family.

To support your journey, we recommend the Holy Bible with the Notes of Faith by Bishop Edir Macedo. Its clear and practical explanations help bring the Scriptures to life and show how faith can be applied in everyday situations.

You can purchase your physical copy through the Christian Books Plus website and for added convenience, the Faithful Commented Bible app allows you to read or listen to the Bible wherever you are.

The opportunity to transform your life is within reach. Open the Bible, believe in its message, and put it into practice.

In addition, every Wednesday, the School of Faith Bible Study takes place at a Universal Church near you. We would love for you to join us as we explore God’s Word together.
