Alphabet of Intelligent Love – W: Wisdom

Wisdom

More than feelings, intelligent love is about choices. And for those choices to be good, they must be guided by wisdom. Without wisdom, passion can lead to misunderstandings and poor decisions, resulting in unnecessary conflicts. Wisdom allows couples to grow in harmony instead of strife.

The Bible clearly states in Proverbs 24:3, “Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established.” Love guided by wisdom serves as a solid foundation that withstands the storms of life.

For singles, being wise involves learning from past experiences, avoiding repeating the same mistakes and being selective about whom you allow into your life. Wisdom teaches that it’s better to wait for the right person than to rush into the wrong relationship out of impatience or fear.

Furthermore, wisdom reminds us that before seeking a partner, we must first become the kind of person we would want to be with. This means developing emotional maturity, learning to communicate clearly and respectfully, and building a strong relationship with God. A wise person doesn’t expect someone else to complete them. Instead, they focus on becoming whole so they can love fully.

Whether you’re single or in a relationship, now is the perfect time to ask yourself: “Am I approaching love with wisdom?” Reflect on your past, your current mindset and the future you wish to build. Are your decisions driven by emotion, or are they guided by understanding and truth?

The Love Walk offers a chance to slow down and realign your path with what truly matters. Both singles and couples are encouraged to reflect deeply on their current or future relationships and apply wisdom in their decisions.
