A Clean Body, a Clean Home… But What About the Soul?

Cleansing

In our day-to-day lives, our bodies naturally sweat, collect dirt, and sometimes produce unpleasant odours. That’s why taking a daily shower is such a normal and necessary habit—it keeps us clean, comfortable, and healthy. The same applies to our homes. You might do a deep clean at the weekend, but a day or two later, dust is already accumulating and things slowly start to look messy. That’s why cleaning is not a one-off task but something that must be done regularly.

But what about our inner lives?

Just like our bodies, our minds and souls can accumulate negativity over time. Negative feelings can build up after difficult experiences or unfair situations, such as resentment after being hurt, bitterness from a disappointment or stress from ongoing problems. We can also be affected by hurtful or discouraging words from others—sometimes even from those whose opinions matter to us. Not to mention envy and other negative influences that can take a toll on our inner well-being.

If these internal impurities are not addressed, they don’t simply vanish. They silently build up, affecting how we think, feel, and live. Over time, this inner “dirt” can drain our energy, disrupt our peace, and hold us back spiritually.

That’s why caring for our inner lives is just as important as looking after our bodies. And this is exactly the aim of the 7 Fridays of Spiritual Cleansing with 7 Blessed Waters—the new faith-based purpose we are taking part in at the Universal Church.

Disclaimer: Please note that the water itself has no magical properties, but it can be used to awaken your faith and give you the willpower to overcome your battles. The UCKG HelpCentre’s spiritual advice is to be seen as a complement to the scientifically proven treatment you may be receiving. The UCKG HelpCentre does not claim to heal people but believes that God can, through the power of faith. Always follow your doctor’s instructions.
