When Home Becomes an Unsafe Haven

Unsafe Home

A home should be the safest place in the world. Yet, for too many, it’s precisely within their own walls that suffering, conflict and tragedy unfold. Tragic stories continue to emerge each and every day. Last Sunday, police in Stafford discovered two toddlers – aged 2 and 3 – dead at home under suspicious circumstances, leading to the arrest of a 43-year-old female suspect who, according to the police, was related to the victims.

Another heart-breaking case from last year involved a 10-year-old girl from Surrey who was murdered by her father and stepmother – the very people meant to protect her. Prosecutors described her life as a prolonged “campaign of abuse” and a “daily living hell.” These stories are devastating and reveal how danger can arise from the very spaces we believe to be the most secure.

Scripture illustrates a similar theme. During the Old Testament plague in Egypt, a spirit of death passed through every house that was not under God’s protection, bringing destruction. However, those families safeguarded by God were spared (see Exodus chapters 11 and 12).

In this faith, on Friday, 17 October, we will dedicate time to pray for the deliverance and protection of your home and family as part of our 13 Fridays to Tie Up Evil. In the name of the Lord Jesus, we will declare that any negative spirit acting in your household, or even planning destruction, be neutralised.

Where evil has crept in, let light shine. Where trust has been broken, let healing begin. Where fear reigns, let faith stand strong. This Friday could be the day your home finds peace again. Join us at your nearest Universal Church as we come together to seek peace, safety and divine shelter over those you love most.
