When Experience Should Bring Results—But It Doesn’t

Cry Out for Those Over 40

By the time we reach our 40s, most of us expect a certain level of stability. After years of effort, planning, sacrifices and lessons learned, this stage of life should, in theory, begin to bear fruit. Success, security and a clear sense of direction seem like natural outcomes.

Yet, for many, the reality is very different. Instead of stability, there is debt. Instead of confidence, there is insecurity. Instead of clarity about the future, there is frustration and uncertainty. Many look back and wonder, “With everything I’ve been through and all I’ve done, why am I still not where I thought I would be?”

At this stage, it’s not uncommon to carry invisible burdens—unresolved disappointments, plans that never materialised and fears about what lies ahead. The pressure to “have it all together” can be overwhelming. In such situations, what can one do?

While effort, dedication and perseverance are crucial, they are most effective when aligned with God’s direction—a guidance that transcends human reasoning. When God is our partner, we gain clarity in our decisions, strength to persevere, and confidence to move forward.

God is almighty, yet He is not distant or unreachable. Through faith, we can draw near to Him and enter into a covenant, surrendering our lives to His care. When we do this, He begins to guide our steps, inspire our decisions and strengthen us from within, allowing us to pursue our goals with renewed willpower and confidence.

If you’re over 40 and feel that your life should be further ahead than it is, or if you are carrying burdens that you no longer want to bear, this is an opportunity to take a different step—a step of faith.
