What is Causing You to Sigh?

Sighing
You know that feeling when you let out a deep sigh—not because you’re out of breath, but because your heart is heavy. The kind of sigh that comes out when you’re feeling disappointed, confused, or just… done. Yeah, we’ve all been there.

Most of us have sighed over love at some point. Sometimes, we sigh because we’re longing for something that hasn’t happened yet. Maybe you’ve been hoping your love life would turn around—whether that’s recovering from a breakup, fixing a rocky relationship, or finally meeting the right person—but instead, things seem stuck. You’ve prayed, perhaps even fought for change, but now, you’ve stopped because you’re tired and just… sighing.

You are not alone in this and your sighs are not going unnoticed. In Psalm 38:9 it says: “Lord, all my desire is before You; and my sighing is not hidden from You.” God hears every sigh. He knows the desires of your heart, even when you’ve stopped talking about it. Just because it feels like nothing’s happening, it doesn’t mean God isn’t working.

Have you ever heard of Rahab? Her story is found in Joshua chapter 2, it’s a story about faith and a promise.

Rahab lived in a city called Jericho and two Israelite men were sent into Jericho to spy out the land. When the men were spotted, she hid them in the roof of her house, risking her life to help them. In return, they made her a promise of protection when the city of Jericho would eventually be destroyed. But she had to do one simple thing: tie a scarlet cord in her window. The cord became a symbol of a promise. When destruction came, her home and family were spared.

So, what’s that got to do with you?

This Thursday, 29th May, the Love Therapy Seminar will include a special prayer to lift the burdens that have been making you sigh. You will receive your own red ribbon just like Rahab, as a reminder that God has not forgotten His promises to you and His Word will come to pass.

Maybe your marriage is struggling. Perhaps you’re single and feeling like love will never happen for you. It could be that you’ve been hurt too many times and are thinking of giving up. Whatever it is, God’s promises still stand and what comes from Him brings peace and joy.

If you know someone who’s been sighing or feeling anxious over their love life, invite them to come with you because when we use our faith everything starts to change.
