Someone asked Arnold Schwarzenegger possibly one of the most controversial questions on the planet: “What happens to us when we die?”
His answer was “Nothing. You’re 6 feet under. Anyone that tells you something else is a liar”. However, he then proceeded to say: “We don’t know what happens with the soul and all this spiritual stuff that I’m not an expert in.”
He is not alone in thinking this because many have a lot of uncertainty regarding this subject, which is why they avoid thinking about it at all.
There are many different theories about life after death and if the soul continues to live after the person’s body dies or not. However, studies have been conducted that prove the soul’s existence and what happens to it after death. It continues to live!
So, if this is true, how long will it live for and where does it go?
We learn from the word of God that the soul lives for eternity and that all who believe and surrender themselves to Him will find a new home: Heaven. This place is only reserved for those who have become His children through applying His teachings in their life. The Holy Scriptures describe this place as beyond our imagination and anything we have ever seen here on earth:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9)
This is only one of the countless references the Bible makes to the Kingdom of Heaven, which brings hope to those who believe and prepare themselves for the day they will finally enter!
