There was a time when we thought about family, it brought up warm memories. Everyone gathered around the table for dinner, sharing stories from their day, laughing together and showing love. Both parents were present, and there was a sense of togetherness that felt unshakeable.
But today, things look quite different. Many families face distance or separation, single parents do their best to manage it all, children are having to grow up quickly while mum or dad are at work, or everyone living under the same roof but worlds apart, each glued to a phone, tablet, or computer. Conversations are replaced by arguments and homes may be filled with noise but not always connection.
However, this is not what God intended family to be. Family is a precious gift from Him and at the Universal Church we deeply value that gift. We are passionate about helping families rediscover that connection and experience the love and unity God designed for them.
That’s why, on Saturday, 1st November at 2pm, the Cathedral of Miracles will host the UTF Gathering of the Family, led by Bishop James Marques. It is a special event for parents and children to come together, reflect on life’s choices, and learn how to build a happier, more united future.
Universal Teen Force (UTF) is for teenagers aged 11–14, designed to provide guidance and support during the often-challenging years of adolescence. This is a pivotal stage in life, full of changes that can sometimes feel overwhelming.
It’s also a time when teens form habits, shape their values, and build friendships that can last a lifetime. That’s why it’s so important for them to receive the right guidance, helping them make choices that will positively shape their future.
UTF teaches teens Biblical principles and values while offering a safe space to be heard. Advisors provide support, pray with the teens, and encourage them to grow in their personal relationship with God.
Every young person is walking their own path — one that can lead to joy or disappointment, depending on the direction they take today. The Gathering of the Family provides a safe and welcoming place where families can learn side by side, growing in understanding, faith, and love.
More than just a meeting, it’s an opportunity for honest conversation, a moment to stop, reflect, and perhaps make a few changes at home. Parents and children can use this time to set new commitments and strengthen the bond that hold them together.
This event is your invitation to draw closer as a family because the choices you make today will shape the lives you live tomorrow.
So come along, bring your loved ones, and experience the power of unity. Family is one of God’s greatest blessings and it’s never too late to make it stronger.
After all, family is not just something we have, it’s something we build, nurture and cherish every day. With God at the centre, it can become everything He intended it to be.
