Universal Community Open Day

This Saturday, 11^th October, from 11am to 1pm, we are opening the doors of our Finsbury Park headquarters for the Universal Community Open Day. It’s a chance to meet the volunteers behind our work, discover our various initiatives, and explore the historic Rainbow Theatre, which has been beautifully preserved and restored.

This year we celebrate 30 years in the UK, and the Open Day is the perfect opportunity to see how the UCKG HelpCentre has been supporting the local community for over 20 years.

On the day, you will gain an insight into some of our groups that take place right here in your neighbourhood, such as:

• ROD (Rescue of Dignity): A group that works with individuals who are currently in prison or have previously been incarcerated, as well as supporting their families through encouragement, practical help, and positive engagement.

 

• Soup Kitchen: Providing essential food support and advice to those facing hardship in our community, particularly since the pandemic, ensuring no one is left behind.

 

• PCG (Patient Care Group): An initiative dedicated to visiting those who are housebound or in hospital, offering companionship, emotional support, and practical health advice on issues affecting people’s wellbeing.

 

• UAP (Universal Access Point): We refer individuals experiencing homelessness to organisations that provide emergency shelter, housing assistance, and we offer additional support such as computer access.

 

• VYG (Victory Youth Group): Working with young people to empower them and build them up to be positive examples in society, and to have a brighter future becoming positive role models.

 

• And so much more…

This event is a unique opportunity to meet people who have benefitted from our work, ask any questions and see firsthand how we work to uplift and support the people of Finsbury Park. Light refreshments will be provided and parking is available upon request.
