On Friday, 7 February, the series of special events celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Universal Church in the UK continued with the powerful Freedom Night with Bishop Júlio Freitas.
The service began with a prayer in which it was determined that this would not be a night like any other, but a night of total deliverance. Drawing from the book of Psalms, Bishop Júlio invited those present to take two crucial steps to achieve complete freedom from their problems:
“When I cry out to You, then my enemies will turn back; this I know, because God is for me.” (Psalm 56:9).
1 – Pour out your heart with sincerity and cry out to God
“When you pour out your heart and express your anguish, pain, oppression, and sadness in your prayer, you are opening a door for God to go through and work wonders in your life. When we do this, all our enemies (problems) will turn back because God is for you! Maybe you say, ‘Bishop, nobody is for me. Family, friends… nobody is for me.’ God is for you, and the Universal Church is proving throughout these 30 years that we are for you as well!”, explained Bishop Júlio.
2 – Wait on (believe in) God, and not on people
“You cried out to many people, went to so many places looking for help, but what is written here is that God is for you. However, He is waiting for you to be for Him, to believe in Him. It doesn’t matter your religion, choose to believe that He is for you and obey Him. Once you do that, you will see your enemies (problems) one by one turning back and running away from you”, instructed the Bishop.
Total deliverance
Everyone who needed help to be completely free was called to the front of the altar, where the bishops, pastors and assistants performed strong prayers with the laying on of hands, determining total deliverance.
The importance of accepting God’s commandments
The main message focused on the importance of accepting and obeying the commandments that God has given us. When we accept His commandments and guidance, allowing Him to be our Lord, He fulfils His promises in our lives and grants us not the things we want, but the things we need.
“God’s commandments teach us how to behave, how to think, speak, how to react to problems, temptations and the difficult times that we all go through. And His promises are wonderful, perfect. His promises give us the joy to enjoy marriage, family, health, prosperity, but above all, the Holy Spirit dwelling in us”, added Bishop Júlio.
After the seeking of the Holy Spirit and a prayer for people’s finances, Bishop James Marques consecrated the rose of the 13 Fridays for the Fall of Spiritual Walls purpose and Bishop Renato Cardoso concluded the meeting by reinforcing the invitation to The Love School Returns (Saturday, February 8) with him and his wife, Cristiane Cardoso, and the Gathering of the Nations with Bishop Macedo (Sunday, 9 February), continuing the celebrations of 30 years of the Universal Church in the UK.
