Ukraine Appeal: Your Donation Can Make a Difference

While it may have faded from the daily news reports, it has been more than three years since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and the conflict continues with no clear end in sight.

The war has caused unimaginable suffering, forcing millions to live each day with uncertainty, fear, and loss on a daily basis.

By October 2024, nearly 39,000 civilians had been tragically killed or injured and with over 12,000 lives had been lost. Today, around 12.7 million people inside Ukraine are in need of humanitarian assistance to survive.

Imagine living in a place where air raid sirens are part of daily life, where you might have to drop everything at a moment’s notice and run for shelter. That’s the reality for many in Ukraine.

Homes, schools, and hospitals lie in ruins, leaving people without access to basic services like education and healthcare. Power cuts are frequent, communication is difficult, and uncertainty is constant.

Millions have been displaced, often moving multiple times, as they search for safety. Some live in overcrowded shelters; others have fled the country, unsure if they will ever return home. Parents are desperately trying to shield their children from trauma, while they grow up knowing the sounds of sirens and the confines of a shelter. They have lost not only their homes but their schools, friends and the sense of safety every child deserves.

Unemployment is widespread, the cost for food and essentials have soared and for countless families, humanitarian aid has become their only means of survival.

Here at the Universal Church, we refuse to stand by and do nothing. We are reaching out once again to help the people of Ukraine and we invite you to join us.

We are collecting tinned food, sugar, and pasta, which can be dropped into the donation box at your local Universal Church. Every donation, big or small, can make a real difference.

All items will then be gathered at our headquarters in Finsbury Park, carefully packed, and transported to Ukraine, where they will be distributed to communities in urgent need of support.

Together, we can remind the people of Ukraine that they are not forgotten that compassion crosses borders, and that there is hope, even in the darkest times.
