The Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (UCKG) is bringing warmth, care and festive support to communities across the UK this Christmas through its Give Warmth campaign, taking place across 38 cities nationwide.

Running in the lead-up to Christmas, the campaign, now in its second week, has seen hundreds of UCKG volunteers supporting some of the most vulnerable groups in society – from elderly residents and hospital patients to children, teenagers and frontline NHS staff – through a coordinated programme of visits, gifts and community activities.

As part of Give Warmth:

  • Calebs, UCKG’s support group for over-55s, are visiting care homes to spend time with residents, offering companionship, conversation, festive hampers and hand-written cards to help tackle loneliness during the winter months.
  • The Children’s Biblical Centre (CBC) and Universal Teen Force (UTF) are visiting children’s hospitals and wards across the UK, delivering toys and gifts to young patients and offering encouragement to their families.
  • The Patient Care Group are delivering Christmas hampers to NHS staff as a thank-you to for working throughout the festive period.

The campaign reflects UCKG’s long-standing focus on practical community outreach, operating through its 38 full-time branches across the UK and Ireland.

Bishop Allan Passos, UK Head of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God, said:

“Christmas can be a joyful time, but for many it can also be lonely, stressful or exhausting – especially for those in care homes, hospitals or on the frontline. Give Warmth is about more than gifts; it’s about presence, kindness and showing people, they haven’t been forgotten. Across the country, our volunteers are simply giving their time and care where it’s needed most.”

“The hampers and visits mean a great deal to our team. Christmas can be incredibly demanding for hospital staff, and gestures like this genuinely lift morale and remind us that the community appreciates the work being done behind the scenes.”

For residents in care homes, the impact is just as meaningful. Margaret, 82, a resident at a care home in Birmingham, said:

“It’s easy to feel forgotten at this time of year. Having people come in just to sit, talk and laugh with us really warms the heart. It makes Christmas feel like Christmas again.”

The Give Warmth campaign forms part of UCKG’s wider programme of year-round community support, which includes initiatives focused on mental wellbeing, youth development, homelessness and family wellbeing. As a UK-registered charity, UCKG has been active in communities for 30 years, delivering practical help alongside spiritual support through its nationwide network of churches and volunteers.
