The Sunday of the Entry into the Kingdom of God

News 3

Imagine a place where peace never ends, joy is abundant, every smile is sincere, and you are filled with gladness. That is the Kingdom of God and the life God desires for you to experience.

Do you know the Kingdom of God is open to everyone? There are no restrictions based on your background, what you’ve done in your past, or who you are. But, while the door is wide open, not everyone desires to enter permanently. Why? Because becoming a citizen of this Kingdom means leaving certain things behind.

Think of it like this: if you were moving to a completely new country, would you take everything from your old home with you? Most likely not. You would sort through your belongings, take what is essential, and leave the rest behind to start fresh.

It’s the same when we choose to enter the Kingdom of God. We need to let go of what does not please God—grudges, lies, bad habits, selfishness, and pride etc. These things simply do not fit in a place filled with righteousness, peace, and joy.

Many people treat the Kingdom of God like a holiday destination. They enjoy brief moments of spiritual “sunshine”—a good church service, a powerful prayer, a peaceful moment. They visit, enjoy the experience, but never truly relocate. Just like someone returning from holiday, they say, “That was wonderful,” but they are not quite ready to leave their current life behind.

Yes, the Kingdom of God is full of blessings—blessed marriages, strong families, prosperity and fulfilment. But here’s the issue: while many people want the blessings, they are not willing to obey the laws of the Kingdom to get them. True citizenship means full commitment. It means obeying God’s Word and following His guidance in all areas of life and not just the parts we agree with.

The Lord Jesus said: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” (Matthew 7:21-23).

This shows us that saying the right things, or even performing great works in God’s name, is not enough. What truly matters is doing the will of God and living according to the laws of His Kingdom.

Just like in the United Kingdom, where obeying the law is part of enjoying the rights and freedom of citizenship, the Kingdom of God also has laws and those laws are not burdens, they are blessings. They lead to peace in your home and hope for your future.

But if we ignore those laws and refuse to change, how can we expect to receive the full blessings of the Kingdom? Jesus Himself said: “But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33).

When you truly seek God’s Kingdom and live by His ways, everything else will fall into place.

Here’s the best news: God wants you to enter His Kingdom. You don’t need a passport. There’s no waiting list, and no visa required.

This Sunday, across all Universal Churches in the UK, we will be holding a special service, ‘The Sunday of the Entry into the Kingdom of God.’ It’s a moment for those who are tired of the world’s way of living and ready to step into something greater.

The question is: Are you ready to say yes?
