What is it that you truly desire?
We all have moments in life when we believe that one particular thing could change everything. For some, its wealth, the idea that having more money would solve all their problems. For others, it’s a relationship – the hope that if a certain person loved them back and they could be together, then everything would fall into place. For some, it’s a dream job, a breakthrough in their career, or a significant improvement in their overall well-being.
While these things might improve aspects of our lives, none of them can offer lasting fulfilment or solve all our problems. The truth, as taught through the Word of God and the teachings of our Lord Jesus, is that there is only one thing we should truly long for – and that is Him.
Take, for example, someone seeking love in a relationship, believing it will cure their loneliness. Yet, many people are in relationships and still feel lonely. Others are surrounded by friends and still feel isolated. The world offers many solutions, but none that can fully satisfy the soul.
The Holy Spirit, however, is the only One that has the power to truly transform our lives. And this is the focus of the first Sunday in May – a day we’re calling ‘The Sunday of All That I Desire.’
This special day is about turning our hearts towards the Spirit of God. He is the foundation we need, the strength that sustains us until the very end. The Holy Spirit is the One who can meet our deepest needs and bring us closer to God.
In John 15:7, Jesus said: “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.”
This is a powerful promise. When we stay close to God and obey His words, He invites us to ask for anything. But imagine setting aside every request you could make, and instead, asking only for the Holy Spirit. What a life-changing desire that would be.
Join us on Sunday 4th May and prepare yourself to seek the greatest gift that God offers – the Holy Spirit. God promised:
“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” (Matthew 7:11).
This invitation comes as part of a 50-day journey leading up to the day of Pentecost. Each week, we will focus on seeking and preparing ourselves to receive the Holy Spirit.
We welcome you to take part in this powerful purpose. He alone can completely transform your life and lead you to live the life God has planned for you.
Let this be the moment where your greatest desire aligns with God’s greatest gift.
