The Overlooked Benefits of Being Active in Church

Uckg

Did you know that church is not only a place for prayer and worship but also a space that contributes to well-being and quality of life? This isn’t just an opinion; it’s supported by the latest State of the Bible report from the American Bible Society. The report shows that people who engage regularly with their local church communities experience tangible benefits, including lower levels of stress and loneliness, as well as a stronger sense of hope for the future.

John Farquhar Plake, Chief Innovation Officer at the American Bible Society, explains, “People’s lives improve when they engage with their church – not just attending, but using their gifts, developing relationships, and taking advantage of opportunities to grow spiritually.” In other words, the combination of faith and active community participation can be a powerful force for transformation.

These findings align with what is seen every day at the Universal Church through our evangelism and community outreach initiatives. Volunteers provide spiritual, social and emotional support to those in need in hospitals, prisons, on the streets and in neighbourhoods across the country. When Christians dedicate themselves to serving others, they not only bring relief and hope to those in need but also discover renewed purpose in their own lives.

At the Universal Church, we hold daily services focused on different areas of life. You are warmly invited to join us, participate in these meetings and experience the strength that comes from faith and community. You can view our full schedule here and click here to find your nearest branch.
