The Bible tells the story of the Apostle Paul. Once a persecutor of the Church, he had a transformative encounter with the Lord Jesus on the road to Damascus. From that moment onwards, Paul dedicated himself fully to spreading the Gospel. Through his obedience and faith, God worked powerfully through his life, as seen in the following verse:
“Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.” (Acts 19:11-12)
This is an extraordinary account, however, it’s important to understand that the handkerchiefs and aprons themselves had no supernatural power; they were ordinary objects. What made the difference was the faith of those who used them—faith in God’s Word and in His power to heal and deliver. These items served as a point of contact, helping people direct their faith toward God and believe in the materialisation of the miracles they needed.
The Lord Jesus Himself used physical elements to awaken faith. In John 9:6, He made mud with His saliva and applied it to the eyes of a man born blind, who then received his sight. Once again, it was not the material itself that brought the miracle, but the faith placed in God.
In this same spirit, this Tuesday, 27 January, we will distribute a blessed handkerchief to be used as a point of contact between you and God. The aim is to help you awaken your faith—as a complement to any medical treatment you might be receiving—empowering you to overcome any health challenges you might be facing.
The God who performed miracles in the past is the same God today. He has not changed, and His power is still available to those who believe. Join us at the Universal Church nearest to you and tap into the power of faith.
