Have the past six months left you feeling a bit deflated? Maybe you reached some of your financial goals but fell short on others, or perhaps things didn’t go to plan at all. It can be incredibly frustrating to put in the effort and see little results— or worse, to face several months of financial losses.
If this sounds familiar, you might be feeling a bit like Job from the Bible — facing one loss after another and wondering where to turn next.
Job’s story is one of the most profound examples of loss and resilience. He almost lost everything — his children, his wealth, his servants, and even his health — all in a matter of moments. It was devastating. His friends came to support him, sitting silently with him for seven days, mourning alongside him. But then, instead of offering comfort, they began to question him, suggesting that his suffering must be because of his wrongdoing. However, Job insisted he had done nothing to deserve such hardship.
Despite everything, Job continued to pray for his friends even at his lowest (Job 42:10).
You might be thinking, “That’s all well and good, but what does this have to do with my financial struggles?” Here’s what we can learn: Sometimes, financial loss can feel overwhelming, as if everything is spiralling out of control. We might even wonder if we’re being punished or if we somehow brought it on ourselves.
But financial setbacks don’t have to be the end of the story. Like Job, there is hope for a turnaround. His story ends with restoration—he received twice as much as he had before. It’s a reminder that through faith, perseverance, and the right mindset, recovery is possible.
If you’re feeling stuck or discouraged, why not join us at the Prosperity with God meeting? Today, we will come together to cry out for a financial turnaround. Nonetheless, if you began the year like Job, we will declare that in the next six months we will also finish like him—restored and blessed with double.
Don’t forget to invite your friends. We will pray for them as Job did and extend a special blessing to them too.
