Master Your Five Senses and Strengthen Your Faith

the 5 senses

Have you ever stopped to think about how much your five senses—sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell shape your everyday life? From the moment you wake up, they’re working away in the background, helping you make choices, stirring up feelings, and sparking desires. God created them for our benefit, yet they can also be stumbling blocks when it comes to our faith.

How? It’s often in the small, everyday moments—what you see on a screen, what you hear from others, what you feel in your body, that’s where your faith is subtly challenged. You may not even notice it, but little by little, these sensations can sway your thoughts, emotions, and even your choices.

Consequently, faith becomes neutralised when it relies on what is seen, because true faith is the certainty of things not seen. To walk by faith, we must learn to overcome our natural senses. Otherwise, you will remain limited to the human, earthly realm and miss out on experiencing the supernatural.

The five senses are usually enemies of faith. But, they don’t have to remain that way. They can be brought into alignment and serve as allies. This requires learning how to master them through faith. Faith itself is not a physical sensation; it’s not something you feel. Rather, faith involves believing, choosing, and acting based on what is written in the Word of God

That’s why on Wednesday, 2nd July, the Defending Our Faith Bible Study will be focusing on how your senses can influence your spiritual life and what you can do to take back control.

If you are serious about defending your faith and growing spiritually, don’t miss this opportunity. Bring your Bible and learn how to rise above the distractions of our senses and live by faith. Join us today at your local Universal Church.
