On Saturday, 30 August, Kennington Park became the stage for the much-anticipated Love Walk, gathering couples and singles from across the UK for an afternoon dedicated to building stronger, healthier relationships. Starting at 1pm, the event welcomed people eager to learn how to cultivate what is known as intelligent love, as promoted by the Love Therapy seminars – a love based not solely on fleeting emotions, but guided by reason, values and conscious choices.
Even before the official start time, participants arrived in their promotional t-shirts, creating an atmosphere of anticipation and enthusiasm. The event started with a series of interactive activities designed to break the ice, including a light-hearted quiz for couples to test their knowledge of one another. Prizes were awarded to those with the longest relationships and even to the participants who had travelled the furthest to attend.
The initial activities were followed by a message from Bishop James and his wife, Helena Marques. After a prayer dedicating the day to God, they addressed the crowd with an encouraging message about the importance of bringing intelligence into love. They reminded attendees not to allow emotions to dominate their conversations but to use the opportunity to connect more deeply, resolve conflicts constructively and strengthen their bonds.
Following the Bishop’s message, couples spread out across the park to begin their walks, guided by carefully prepared conversation leaflets designed to spark meaningful discussions. Meanwhile, singles participated in engaging games and fun activities before also embarking on their walks, equipped with a tailored questionnaire to help them discover shared values and perspectives.
The afternoon unfolded with laughter, meaningful exchanges and, for many, a new sense of clarity about their relationships and goals in love. Couples enjoyed the chance to step away from daily distractions and invest quality time in one another, while singles found a relaxed and positive environment to meet new people and form genuine connections.
The Love Walk 2025 was more than just a walk in the park; it was a unique opportunity to develop and strengthen meaningful relationships and a reminder that love, whether blossoming or longstanding, requires attention, wisdom and commitment. For many, the day left a lasting impression.
As attendee Dami Alaran shared: “One of the best things about the day was the overall environment. Singles and couples were there for the same reason: to lay the right foundation and improve the pillars of their love lives. It was such a great moment to spend some much-needed time alone with my wife. She’s my best friend, and I can attribute this all to important activities such as the Love Walk.”
